Arrangements for Eid-i- Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) finalized at Shopian

SHOPIAN, Oct18 ( KINS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishaya today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for observance of forthcoming Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).

While chairing the meeting, the DC enjoined upon the officers to ensure compliance of Covid SOPs particularly wearing of masks by devotees and maintenance of physical distance. He said that Covid is not over yet so the people need to observe guidelines in letter and spirit.

Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed for making all the necessary arrangements to facilitate the people on the upcoming auspicious occasion. He directed the officials of PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all the congregation sites during the entire period. He also directed for restoration of street lights in and around these areas.

The DC directed for making provision of safe drinking water, availability of drinking water tanker, adequate supply of ration, health care facilities, fire fighting arrangements, parking facilities and ensuring cleanliness at the Shrines and at all other Masjids where large numbers of devotees are expected to arrive.

Vaishya directed traffic officials to make suitable arrangements for transportation of devotees on all routes leading to the shrines and designated routes for devotees and streamline the flow of traffic.

He also called for intensive market checkings to keep a check on black marketing, profiteering and hoardings.

Vaishya called upon SMC authorities to ensure proper sanitation measures around the holy places.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Zainapora, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shopian, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha; ARTO, Shopian; Chief Medical Officer, Shopian; Executive Engineers of PHE and PDD, EO Municipal Committee Shopian, Police and Traffic Police Officers and other concerned attended the meeting.( KINS)
