Home Minister Amit Shah Arrives in Srinagar, Meets Pahari Delegation, likely to review Amarnath Yatra Security

Srinagar, May 16, Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar today to a warm reception by BJP leaders at The Lalit Palace. Shah’s visit has prompted heightened security measures, particularly in the Gupkar area and along the airport road.
During his overnight visit, Home Minister is scheduled to meet various delegations, including BJP leaders, to discuss key issues and party matters.
Meanwhile in a first meeting, a delegation of Pahari leaders met with Shah at the Hotel Lalit Palace.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to both the Home Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for addressing their community’s longstanding issues.
According to sources, Amit Shah is also likely to hold a security review meeting regarding the Amarnath Yatra tonight.
Shah is expected to depart on Friday, concluding his engagements in Srinagar amidst stringent security arrangements across the city.
Senior BJP leader and Kashmir in-charge Sunil Sharma had emphasized that the visit is apolitical, focusing on reviewing arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
He had confirmed that Shah would meet several delegations, including those representing Gujjar, Bakerwal, Dal dwellers, and others, with no restrictions on anyone meeting him.
