Sgr shivers at minus 5.4 degree Celsius

Srinagar Jan 06 (KINS): Srinagar experiences a further drop in temperature, reaching minus 5.4 degrees Celsius amidst a persistent dry spell in Kashmir. The ongoing 40-day harshest winter period, Chillai Kalan, sees temperatures settling below freezing point. Pahalgam records the lowest temperature at minus 6.3 degrees Celsius, while Kupwara in the north reaches minus 5.4 degrees Celsius. Other areas like Qazigund, Gulmarg, and Kokernag also report chilly conditions. The weather forecast predicts dry weather until January 14, with no significant weather activity expected during this period.
