Police Recover Explosive Material in Sopore, Further Investigation Underway

Srinagar, Feb 08: In a significant development, police has recovered a cache of explosive materials from a house in the Kraknshiven colony Sopore.
The materials, suspected to be used in the manufacturing of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), were seized during a targeted operation conducted by the police.
Police said that “Today around 0800 hrs, a operation named Caso was initiated by ops sopore with Ps Tarzoo and 52RR / crpf at Kraknkshiven village in connection with Fir No. 307/2023 of Ps Sopore.
During the search, explosive material, IED’s, a rusted pistol with a magazine, and ammunition of SLR/AK47/pistol were found at the residence of Rashid Najar, who is the brother of the deceased terrorist Qayoom Najar of Kalrankshivan sopore.
Rashid Najar has been detained as well”.
The discovery underscores the ongoing efforts by police to maintain security and prevent potential threats in the town.
Sources indicate that the operation was carried out based on credible intelligence inputs.
At present, the police have not released further information regarding the case, but it is expected that more details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
