Mandeep Kaur Inspects Developmental Works in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, JULY 18: Commissioner Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur, accompanied by Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), Dr. Owais Ahmed, conducted a thorough inspection of ongoing developmental works in Srinagar today.
Senior officers from various line departments joined the inspection, which began with a detailed briefing by Dr. Owais Ahmed at Karanagar. The projects reviewed included the development of underground ducting for communication and electricity cables and road improvements, including the installation of pavements.
The inspection then moved to Shireen Bagh, where the focus was on the development of walkways and footpaths along the bund. At Habba Kadal, Mandeep Kaur directed the officers to construct a public convenience at the old Habba Kadal Bridge and expedite the repair and facade improvement of the Iskcon Temple, along with the illumination of the old bridge.
The heritage corridor of the city was also a significant focus, with plans for retrofitting, conservation, and facade improvement of residential and commercial buildings, walkways, and pathways, including the old Khanqah-e-Moula shrine and the Jamia Masjid precinct walkway.
At the Achan Landfill site, noteworthy projects included the design, construction, erection, and commissioning of a 130 KLD septage treatment plant, as well as the creation of buffer zones around the landfill site. Mandeep Kaur also inspected the construction of a shopping complex with twelve shops and two halls at Soura Housing Colony being developed by the Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB).
Further inspections included the community hall at Malla Bagh and Imamia Park at Alamgari Bazar, where she called for the plantation of deodar trees and the illumination of the park. The inspection concluded at the Low Lying Pump Station at Ashai Bagh.
Mandeep Kaur directed all concerned parties to expedite the execution of these projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
