Two More Arrested in Baramulla Human Trafficking Case; Three Minor Girls Rescued

Baramulla, July 22: In a significant development in the ongoing human trafficking case in Ushkara Baramulla, the police have rescued three more minor girls and arrested two additional suspects. This follows the investigation of case FIR No. 173/2024 of PS Baramulla.
The investigation revealed the involvement of two more individuals: Ghulam Mohammad Khan, son of Ab Rehman, resident of Narbal, and Manzoor Ahmad Shah, son of Gh Mohammad, resident of Janbazpora, in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the Union Territory.
A police team from Baramulla, led by SHO PS Baramulla, successfully apprehended the suspects and transferred them to the police station. The operation also resulted in the rescue of three minor girls of Rohingya origin from Burma.
Notably, two suspects from Baramulla were previously arrested, and four minor girls were rescued during the initial phase of the investigation.
“This operation demonstrates the commitment of the J&K Police to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals,” a police spokesperson said.
