‘Suspected Mpox Case Under Investigation; Patient Isolated, No Cause for Alarm’: Govt

Srinagar, Sep 08 (KINS): A young male patient who recently traveled from a country currently experiencing Mpox (monkeypox) transmission has been identified as a suspected case of Mpox.
As per the PIB press note, the patient has been placed in isolation at a designated hospital and is reported to be stable.
“Samples from the patient are undergoing testing to confirm the presence of Mpox. The case is being managed according to established protocols, and contact tracing is in progress to identify potential sources and assess any impact”.
“The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had previously assessed the risk, and this isolated case aligns with those assessments. Authorities assure that there is no cause for undue concern as the country is well-prepared to handle such travel-related cases with robust measures to manage and mitigate potential risks”.(KINS)
