Mass Awareness Program Highlights ‘Every Single Vote Counts’ at Zadibal-AC

Srinagar, Sep 12 (KINS): A mass awareness program under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign was held today at the 24-Zadibal Assembly Constituency, emphasizing the importance of every vote in the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly-2024.
Organized by the Returning Officer of 24-Zadibal AC, the event aimed to boost voter engagement and underscore the message that every vote plays a crucial role in democracy. The Returning Officer highlighted how a single vote can impact election outcomes, reinforcing that democracy thrives when all eligible voters participate.
The program saw participation from students, local residents, teachers, and public officials, fostering a broad understanding of the electoral process. To further engage the community, the event included a plantation drive and a walkathon led by students from Islamia College of Science and Commerce and Shaheen Public School. This initiative combined electoral awareness with environmental responsibility, symbolizing the nurturing of both democracy and nature.
Student leaders from Islamia College emphasized the role of youth in elections, noting, “Our participation today will shape the society we live in tomorrow. Every vote we cast strengthens democracy.”
The plantation drive and walkathon received praise for linking civic duties with environmental care, with hundreds of students planting saplings in and around school areas. The Returning Officer thanked various stakeholders, including educational and forestry officials, for their support in making the event successful.(KINS)
