Jammu, Sep 22 (KINS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a fiery address at a public meeting in Nowshera, Jammu, strongly criticized the previous governments led by National Conference (NC), and Congress for depriving the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their rights and stoking unrest in the region.
Shah emphasized the significant changes brought by the abrogation of Article 370, stating that it marked a new era of peace, development, and the end of terrorism in the region.
“I know how much the people here suffered, and how your rights were taken away by the NC,Congress. But after the abrogation of Article 370, tell me, was it good or bad? Farooq Abdullah says he will bring it back, but I can assure you, no one will ever get it back,” Shah declared.
He further assured the crowd that the BJP government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has ensured safety and peace along the border, saying; “Now there is no need for bunkers in the border areas. If bullets come, we will respond with shells. The Indian flag will now always fly high in Kashmir.”
Shah as per news agency KINS, dismissed any possibility of engaging in talks with Pakistan until terrorism is fully eradicated. “We will not talk to Pakistan until terrorism is gone.
These political parties want to reopen LOC trade and bring terrorism back into J&K, but we will never allow that,” he stated firmly.
The Union Minister also took aim at the promises made by opposition parties, accusing them of misleading the people. “The NC is promising to release terrorists and stone pelters from jail for their own gains, but Narendra Modi will crush terrorism in J&K. We will never free those who harmed our people,” he added.
Shah noted the successful completion of the first phase of polling in the ongoing elections and expressed confidence in a BJP victory. “The NC-Congress government will not be formed. I can tell you this. On the 25th, vote for the candidate who will work for you, vote for our BJP candidate, and we will ensure your welfare.”
In a sharp rebuke to Farooq Abdullah, Shah as per KINS accused him of neglecting Kashmir during its darkest times. “For 30 years, terrorism thrived here, curfews were imposed, and 40,000 people were killed. Farooq Sahib was in London while Kashmir burned. But under Modi, we have destroyed terrorism in J&K.”
Shah outlined the BJP’s development vision for Jammu and Kashmir, promising to bring connectivity to every village, regardless of size, and unveiling plans for an international airport, a metro rail system in Jammu, and five lakh government jobs for the region’s youth.
“We will expose those who brought terrorism to J&K, those who ate biryani with terrorists.
The then Home Minister couldn’t even visit Kashmir, but now, under Modi, anyone can walk freely through Lal Chowk, even late at night. Tourism and cinemas have returned to J&K,” Shah said, stressing the return of normalcy in the region.
In closing, Shah reiterated the BJP’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, responding firmly to Pakistan, and creating jobs in J&K. “To end terrorism, to give a befitting reply to Pakistan, to eliminate unemployment—we need a BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir.”
News agency KINS further reported that the Home Minister’s address was met with enthusiastic applause, as he urged the people to vote for BJP candidates in the upcoming elections, promising a new dawn of peace, progress, and prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
