Two Terrorists Neutralized in Joint Operation in Keran Sector: Army

Srinagar, Oct 05 (KINS):In a coordinated effort by the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP), two heavily armed terrorists were neutralized during an infiltration attempt in the Keran sector near the Line of Control (LoC). The operation, codenamed “Operation Gugaldhar,” was launched following multiple intelligence inputs over recent weeks regarding infiltration plans through the area.
On 3rd October 2024, specific intelligence, corroborated by the Jammu & Kashmir Police and Intelligence Bureau (IB), indicated a likely infiltration through the dense jungles of Keran. In response, joint forces initiated round-the-clock surveillance along potential infiltration routes.
On the evening of 4th October, at approximately 8:10 PM, Indian troops observed suspicious movement near the LoC. When challenged by vigilant forces, the infiltrators opened indiscriminate fire, leading to a fierce exchange. Two terrorists were killed in the ensuing firefight, and a significant cache of war-like stores was recovered, confirming the heavily armed and well-trained nature of the infiltrators, suspected to be Pakistani nationals.
The success of Operation Gugaldhar highlights the synergy between the intelligence agencies, Indian Army, and JKP in maintaining peace and security in Kashmir. The Chinar Warriors remain resolute in countering any attempts by hostile elements to disrupt the region’s harmony.(KINS)
