Sajjad Lone questions over repeated extensions of interim bail to MP Er Rashid

KINS Desk
Srinagar, Oct 15 (KINS): Peoples Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone has raised concerns over the repeated extensions of interim bail granted to Member of Parliament Er Rashid.
A Delhi Court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of Er Rashid until October 28. His bail has been extended multiple times.
Sajad Gani Lone questioned the repeated extensions of the interim bail for Er Rashid.
“My humble request to the Delhi court: please show the same leniency in extending or granting bail to others as you are showing to a VIP accused, a serving MP,” Lone posted on X, according to the news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).
“Two people have died in jail in similar cases. No bail was granted. Many of the other accused are elderly, suffer from multiple diseases, and also need relief. They have families and personal issues too. They are human beings as well. The responsibility to uphold the highest judicial standards and fairness lies with the courts and investigating agencies. The same compassion shown to the VIP accused must be extended to others. The investigating agencies are not opposing the extension of bail in this case, and they should show similar compassion to the other accused. There should not be two sets of rules; the same rules should apply to all,” Lone added. (KINS)
