Srinagar, Oct 18 (KINS): The J&K Contractors Coordination Committee (JKCCC), led by Chairman Ghulam Jeelani Purza, met with J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President and newly elected Assembly Member Tariq Hameed Karra today to extend congratulations on the formation of the new NC-Congress government, headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The JKCCC in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that delegation, including General Secretary Tariq Ahmad Baba, Advisor Mohammad Shafi Bhat, Spokesman Mohammad Amin Raina, and members Dr. Mohammad Rafiq, Irshad Ahmad Bhat, and Maqsood Ahmad, discussed pressing issues faced by contractors in the region.
“Key concerns raised included pending payments from the BJP-PDP government (2014-2018), delays in card renewals, shortages of raw materials, and other operational challenges that continue to hinder their work”.
Responding to these concerns, Karra assured the delegation that their issues would be brought to the attention of the government. “I have already raised these concerns with the alliance partners and will ensure that your genuine demands are addressed promptly,” he said.
JKCCC Chairman Purza expressed confidence in Karra’s leadership, recalling their prior collaboration during Karra’s tenure as Finance Minister. “Your commitment to development has always been evident, and we are hopeful that the contractor community will benefit under your leadership,” he said.
