Srinagar , Oct 21 : Following the tragic terror attack in Gagangir, Srinagar, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. In his statement, Abdullah emphasized the impact of such violence on vulnerable communities, noting that “immigrant poor laborers and a doctor lost their lives” in the incident. He questioned the motives of the terrorists, asking, “What will the terrorists get from this? Do they think they will be able to create a Pakistan here?”
Abdullah’s remarks highlighted the ongoing struggle for peace in Kashmir, as he emphasized the urgency of putting an end to violence. “We are trying to put this to an end so we can move on from the misery,” he stated, underscoring the need for a collective effort to restore normalcy and safety in the region.
He directed a strong message to the leadership in Pakistan, urging them to consider the implications of their actions. “If they want good relations with India, they need to put an end to this. ‘Kashmir Pakistan nahi Banega.’ Let us live with dignity and succeed,” he asserted. Abdullah pointed out that if Pakistan has been unable to create a separate nation for Kashmir over the past 75 years, it is unlikely that this will change now.
In his passionate plea for peace, Abdullah warned of severe consequences if terrorism continues unabated. “It is time to end terrorism; otherwise, the results will be very severe,” he cautioned. He concluded by raising a critical question about the possibility of meaningful dialogue, stating, “How will talks be held if they kill our innocent people?” Abdullah’s statements reflect a deep commitment to finding a path toward peace and stability in Kashmir.
