30 Injured, including nursing students, in Udhampur mini-bus accident; rescue operations underway

Jammu, Oct 29– At least 30 passengers, primarily nursing college students, sustained injuries when a private mini-bus skidded off the road and fell into a ditch in Udhampur district on Tuesday, according to officials.
The bus, traveling from Salmari to Udhampur, veered off near the village of Farma around 12:30 pm. Authorities promptly launched a rescue operation, transporting the injured to the Government Medical College Hospital in Udhampur.
Three passengers were reported to be in serious condition and are being transferred to Jammu for specialized medical care.
Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai visited the hospital to assess the situation. “Preliminary information suggests brake failure may have caused the accident,” she informed reporters, adding that an official inquiry will be conducted to determine the exact cause.
