Farooq Abdullah Calls for Investigation into Terror Attacks in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar , Nov 2: In light of a series of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has urged for an investigation to determine if any agencies are involved in attempts to destabilize the government led by Omar Abdullah. “They (attackers) should not be killed; they should be caught and questioned about who is behind them… We should investigate if there is an agency trying to destabilize Omar Abdullah,” stated the National Conference (NC) president.

As the situation unfolds, twin encounters are ongoing in the Bandipora and Srinagar regions following gunfire near an army camp on Friday. Security forces have launched an extensive search operation in response to the incident.

Sources indicate that one of the militants trapped in Srinagar is believed to be of Pakistani origin and is linked to recent targeted killings in the region.

The encounters began on Friday evening after gunfire erupted near the army camp in Bandipora, prompting a rapid response from security personnel. This led to simultaneous encounters as forces sought to track down the suspected militants.

Authorities have heightened security measures in both Srinagar and Bandipora, placing these areas on high alert as personnel conduct thorough searches to locate the attackers who fired near the army base.
