‘Railway to Kashmir completed soon, Govt to provide 200 units of free electricity to deserving families’

Srinagar Nov 04 (KINS) : Assembly: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Monday addressed the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly where he announced several initiatives aimed at boosting local development and welfare in the Union Territory.
The LG according to the news agency began his speech at 11:30 am in the presence of all legislators including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“The upcoming railway to Kashmir is likely to be completed very soon,” he said, while promising free electricity, Industrial Growth and support for artisans.
“The government would provide 200 units of free electricity to deserving families, easing the burden on low-income households,” he said.
Addressing the J&Ks economic aspirations, LG Sinha revealed plans to develop 46 industrial estates across Jammu and Kashmir, signaling a strong push towards industrial expansion.
He also stated the government’s commitment to supporting local artisans, particularly in the handloom sector, stating that they would be provided with market interventions both online and offline to enhance their reach.
Additionally, LG Sinha updated the assembly on the progress of the much-anticipated railway project to Kashmir, affirming that it is nearing completion and will soon connect the region more closely with the rest of the country. (KINS)
