Gen Upendra Dwivedi Commends Troops for Counter-Terror Successes
Jammu, Nov 8: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi conducted an assessment of forward operational areas along the Kathua-Pathankot International Border on Friday. During the visit, he was briefed by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Yol Cantonment-based Rising Star Corps on the prevailing security landscape and the operational preparedness of troops stationed in the region.
General Dwivedi acknowledged the professionalism and recent counter-terrorism successes of the Rising Star Corps, commending their efforts in maintaining the security of the border areas.
The visit highlighted the Army’s commitment to operational excellence, modernization of forces, and the creation of a strategic environment conducive to effective defense operations, according to the Ministry of Defence spokesperson.
Earlier in the day, General Dwivedi visited the Headquarters of the Western Command at Chandimandir. He was briefed by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Army Commander of Western Command, on essential operational, logistical, and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing combat readiness.
