Woman, two children die in house fire in Kishtwar

Jammu, Nov 11: In a tragic incident, a woman and her two children were charred to death when their house was engulfed in flames early Monday in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, police reported.
The victims were identified as Nazia Begum, her daughter Amina, and son Rizwan. The fire broke out around 4:30 am at Khursheed Ahmad’s residence in Badhat-Jashar village, Drabshalla. The family members were asleep and became trapped in the blaze, unable to escape in time.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
In a separate incident late Sunday night, a fire also damaged a Gujjar Bakerwal boys’ hostel in Chatroo, Kishtwar district. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in this second fire, police added.
