Srinagar, Nov 02 (KINS): BJP National General Secretary and J&K incharge, Tarun Chugh, sharply criticized PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, accusing her of attempting to create a communal divide with a “fake narrative.”
In a statement as per news agency KINS, Chugh condemned Mehbooba’s recent remarks comparing the situation in India with that of Bangladesh, calling it a “nefarious design” to incite communal tensions. He emphasized that while minorities in India are safe and protected, those in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan face severe persecution.
“At a time when Mehbooba has decisively lost the people’s mandate in J&K, her comments reflect ideological bankruptcy and an attempt to poison the atmosphere,” Chugh stated.
Highlighting the achievements of the Modi government, he said, “J&K has entered a new era of progress and development where discussions revolve around tourism, not terrorism.” Chugh credited the government’s efforts for sidelining Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and inspiring a new wave of optimism among the youth in the Union Territory.
Chugh also accused Mehbooba of trying to “revive terrorism” to mislead the youth and alleged her endorsement of fundamentalism in Bangladesh, suggesting connections with “overseas mentors” aiming to destabilize the region.
He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to fostering peace and development in J&K, urging people to reject divisive narratives and focus on building a brighter future.(KINS)
