Satish Sharma asks HoDs to constitute committees regarding felicitation of medal winning players on arrival in J&K
JAMMU, DECEMBER 10: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, today asked the Heads of Department of Youth Services and Sports to constitute teams of officers to welcome and felicitate the medal winning sportspersons/teams of Jammu and Kashmir on their arrival in the UT after participation in National and International tournaments.
As per a circular issued here today in this regard, the initiative is aimed at to encourage the sportspersons to pursue sports and motivate players to achieve high level of excellence in the field.
The circular further stated that due publicity may also be given to the achievements of sports persons and felicitation ceremonies held wherever possible at Railway Station/Airport/Bus stand or any other place of entry wherever the teams/player(s) arrives.
This unique initiative reflects commitment of present dispensation and Sports Minister towards recognizing and honouring the medal winner players/teams who bring laurels to the J&K.
