Jammu, Jan 21 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is likely to visit Badhal village in Rajouri today to assess the situation surrounding the unexplained deaths that have rocked the community.
Sources told news gathering agency KINS that the Chief Minister will meet the affected families and review the ongoing investigation.
This visit comes after criticism that he had not visited the area sooner. “CM will be visiting the village today to understand the situation firsthand,” sources said.
His advisor, Nasir Aslam Wani, is expected to accompany him, sources added.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT), consisting of senior police officers and medical experts, to probe the deaths. The inter-ministerial team, constituted by the Home Ministry working closely with local authorities, is conducting a thorough review of food and medicine consumed by the affected families and investigating possible poisoning, potentially linked to local rivalries.
The unexplained deaths have sparked fear and uncertainty in the community, with villagers demanding clarity and assurance regarding their safety.
“The series of deaths is unprecedented, and we are committed to a transparent and thorough investigation,” a source close to the investigation said. “We are working closely with experts to uncover the cause of this tragedy.”
Initial investigations have ruled out commonly known causes, further deepening the mystery. With medical experts and investigators working tirelessly, the hope is to uncover the truth behind this catastrophic event.
As the investigation progresses, the villagers of Badhal await answers, their lives forever changed by the deaths of their neighbors. The district administration and local leaders have expressed condolences to the affected families, urging the community to remain calm as they await further updates.
Authorities have assured the public that transparency and swift action will follow based on the findings of the expert team, while local leaders and officials continue to offer their support during this difficult time.(KINS)
