Fresh snowfall covers Kashmir; rains lash other parts of the Valley

Srinagar, Mar 15 (KINS): Several areas across Kashmir, including the plains, witnessed fresh snowfall, while other parts of the Valley experienced light to moderate rains on Saturday, officials said.
News agency KINS reported that plains in Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama districts received fresh snowfall, along with popular tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam. Higher reaches, including Gurez in Bandipora, parts of Kupwara, and several mountainous areas, also saw continued snowfall, officials added.
Meanwhile, most other parts of Kashmir are experiencing light to moderate rainfall.
The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent light to moderate rain at most locations throughout the day, with snowfall expected in higher altitudes. Brief spells of light rain or snow may occur at multiple places until Sunday morning, though the weather is likely to improve by the afternoon, the Met office said.(KINS)
