Srinagar Mar 19 (KINS): A team from the Food Safety department in Srinagar, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety Srinagar Yameen Ul Nabi along with Food Safety Officers Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and Khalid Bashir, conducted extensive inspections and sampling in various areas of Srinagar city. The team collected samples to check the quality parameters of food items, ensuring they meet the safety standards outlined in the Food Safety and Standards Act.
The Food Safety Department in a statement said the team inspected areas including HTMT Area Ensuring that food establishments in this area maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitary conditions.Wholesalers in Tengpora: Verifying that wholesalers comply with food safety regulations and standards.

The primary objective of these inspections is to guarantee that consumers receive quality products that adhere to food safety standards. The Food Safety department aims to ensure that all Food Business Operators (FBOs) in Srinagar comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act and maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitary conditions in their premises.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

FBOs are directed to comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act, failing which strict action will be initiated against defaulters. This emphasizes the department’s commitment to ensuring food safety and quality in Srinagar.
