Commissioner SMC Inspects Dewatering Stations, Sewage Treatment Plants in Srinagar

Srinagar, March 20 (KINS): Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmed (IAS) conducted a comprehensive inspection of dewatering stations and sewage treatment plants (STPs) across the city today. Accompanied by senior officials from the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) and SMC, the visit focused on assessing the operational efficiency and maintenance of these critical facilities.

During the inspection, Dr. Owais reviewed the functionality of several dewatering stations, which play a vital role in preventing waterlogging and mitigating flood risks in urban areas. He examined the equipment, operational processes, and overall efficiency of the plants.

Emphasizing the significance of these facilities, Dr. Owais stated, “Our dewatering stations and STPs are crucial for effective urban management. Ensuring their optimal performance will significantly reduce the risks of waterlogging and pollution in our city.”

He also interacted with officials on-site, discussing operational challenges and acknowledging their contributions. Stressing the need for continuous monitoring and upgrades, he underscored the importance of maintaining these essential services to enhance urban infrastructure.(KINS)
