Encounter stars at Hiranagar Jammu

Kathua, March 23 (KINS): A gunfight erupted between security forces and terrorists in the Sanyal area of Hiranagar in the Jammu region on Sunday evening.

Sources told news agency KINS that the security forces launched a cordon and search operation following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.

“As the joint team of forces neared the suspected location, the hiding terrorists opened fire, leading to a gunbattle,” they said.

Intermittent firing is ongoing, and additional reinforcements have been dispatched to the area.
