Police attach property worth 1 Crore of notorious drug peddler in Anantnag
Anantnag, Apr 7 (KINS): In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday attached the property of a notorious drug peddler under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to a police statement, a double-storeyed residential house built over 5 marlas of land and owned by Peer Iftikar Hussain, a resident of Hutmurah, Mattan, was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act. The action was taken by Police Station Mattan in connection with FIR No. 103/2024, with the estimated value of the seized property pegged at approximately 1 crore.
The move is part of Anantnag Police’s intensified campaign to eradicate the drug menace and dismantle networks involved in the trafficking and distribution of narcotics.
“District Police Anantnag remains committed to taking tough and lawful action against all individuals engaged in drug trafficking,” the statement said, urging citizens to share any drug-related information or report suspicious activity in their areas. Authorities assured that all inputs will be handled confidentially and acted upon without delay.(KINS)
