India slams Pakistan Army Chief’s remark on Kashmir reiterates call to vacate occupied Territories
Srinagar, April 17 (KINS): India on Thursday firmly rejected the remarks made by Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir on Kashmir, stating that Pakistan’s only connection with the region is its obligation to vacate the territories it has illegally occupied.
Responding to queries during a briefing, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said,
“How can anything foreign be in a jugular vein? This is a Union Territory of India. Its only relationship with Pakistan is the vacation of illegally occupied territories by that country.”
Jaiswal’s sharp response came after General Munir, addressing members of the Pakistani diaspora at an event, described Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein.” Munir also told the gathering that they were ambassadors of Pakistan and must remember that they belong to a “superior ideology and culture.”
India has consistently maintained that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country and has repeatedly called on Pakistan to end its illegal occupation of parts of the region.(KINS)
