Mega Job fair in Baramulla connects valley youth with top employers

Srinagar, April 17 (KINS): The District Employment & Counselling Centre (DECC) Baramulla, in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, organized a Mega Job Fair at the Chinar YUVA Centre, attracting enthusiastic participation from local youth.

Senior Army officials, including the GOC Chinar Corps and GOC Dagger Division, visited the event and lauded the initiative for effectively linking young job seekers with career opportunities. Over 28 prominent companies—including PhonePe, Kia, SBI Life, Tata Winstron, ICICI Bank, Honda, PNB MetLife, Mahindra Motors, and LIC India—offered roles across IT, healthcare, banking, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing sectors.

The fair featured on-the-spot interviews, career counselling sessions, and upskilling workshops. Aspiring entrepreneurs were also introduced to self-employment programs and government loan schemes.

Reinforcing a message of youth empowerment and peacebuilding, the Indian Army reiterated its commitment to nurturing talent, promoting economic growth, and guiding the region’s youth into the mainstream of national development.(KINS)
