NIA conducts searches at 10 locations in J&K in LeT terror conspiracy case

Srinagar, Sep 12 (KINS): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at 10 locations across Jammu and Kashmir as part of its investigation into a cross-border terror conspiracy involving Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) handlers and their local network.

The searches were carried out in Kupwara, Kulgam, Bandipora, Baramulla and Sopore to gather further evidence and establish the roles of individuals allegedly providing logistical support to infiltrated terrorists.

The case originated with the arrest of an alleged LeT Over Ground Worker (OGW) on March 31, 2026, from whom a hand grenade and live ammunition were recovered. Further investigation led to the arrest of Pakistani nationals and identification of members of the alleged local support network.

The NIA said the network was allegedly being used for communication, movement, shelter, reconnaissance and other logistical assistance to infiltrated terrorists. Investigators are also examining financial transactions, communication channels and the supply chain of arms and explosives.

The agency said further investigation is underway to identify all those involved and establish their respective roles. (KINS)
