Srinagar, June 27 (KINS): Senior leaders and former cabinet ministers Taj Mohi U Din and G.M. Saroori, along with DDC Vice Chairman of Kupwara, Haji Farooq Mir Lolabi, rejoined the Congress party on Thursday. The trio expressed regret for their earlier decision to quit the party, calling it a “serious mistake.”
They were formally welcomed back into the party by AICC General Secretary Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain, JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, and AICC General Secretary and CLP Leader G.A. Mir, who congratulated them on their return.
The Congress leadership expressed strong satisfaction over their rejoining, saying it would further bolster the party’s position in the Union Territory.
Addressing the media, Dr. Hussain revealed that several other leaders who had previously left Congress or joined other parties are currently in touch with him, the JKPCC President, and the CLP Leader. “They are likely to return to the Congress fold soon after following due process,” he said.
