Jammu, Sept 22 (KINS): Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat IPS, inaugurated a three-day mega exhibition on new criminal laws, organized by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Crime Branch Jammu under the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, at Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
The DGP was the chief guest, while ADGP Armed J&K Anand Jain IPS, IGP Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti IPS, IGP Crime J&K Sujit Kumar Singh IPS, DIGs Shridar Patil, Shiv Kumar, Tejinder Singh, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, and Mubassir Latifi IPS, along with Sessions Judge (Retd.) Subhash Gupta, Director FSL Gurmukh Singh, and other senior officials, were present as guests of honour. District SSPs, SDPOs, prosecution staff, and other gazetted officers also attended.
In his address, DGP Nalin Prabhat highlighted the proactive implementation of new criminal laws by J&K Police and praised the Crime Branch for organizing the exhibition. He emphasized that similar events will be held across districts to raise public awareness about the new laws.
The exhibition, the first of its kind in Jammu, attracted a large number of students, scholars, and citizens on its opening day. Scheduled from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, it will continue until September 24. SSP Benam Tosh, the nodal officer, invited the public to participate and gain valuable insights into the new legal provisions.
Various stalls showcased the functioning and details of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Participating units included District Police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Police Control Room (PCR), Women Police Station, Cyber Police Stations, Prosecution, ANTF, CICE, Special Crime Wing (SCW), EOW Crime Branch, J&K Health Department, and other allied agencies.(KINS)
