LG likely to approve transfers of DIGs, SSPs, and SPs soon

KINS Desk

Srinagar, Oct 07(KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is likely to order transfers and postings of senior police officers, including those at the DIG, SSP, and SP ranks, in the coming days.

According to highly placed sources quoted by media, as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), the upcoming transfer order is expected to be a major one, involving a substantial number of officers across various districts and ranges of the Union Territory.

The reshuffle, sources indicated, has been under discussion as part of a broader effort to streamline law enforcement operations, strengthen field supervision, and enhance coordination between different police units.

The Home Department, in consultation with the Police Headquarters, is reportedly finalizing the list of officers likely to be affected by the reshuffle. The transfers are expected to cover both Kashmir and Jammu divisions, impacting officers heading district police units, specialized wings, and operational zones.

Sources said the changes are also aimed at injecting new energy into district-level policing and ensuring effective implementation of the government’s anti-narcotics, anti-terror, and community policing initiatives.

The transfer order could be issued anytime soon, once the Lieutenant Governor gives his final approval, officials said.(KINS)
