“Congress has no existence in J&K, it is a puppet of National Conference”: Sunil Sharma

KINS Desk

Srinagar, Oct 13 (KINS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Sharma on Monday launched a strong attack on the Congress, accusing it of being “completely subservient to the National Conference (NC) and lacking any independent political identity in the Union Territory”.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Sharma as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) said the “Congress has long lost its base and direction in Jammu and Kashmir, and all its decisions are dictated by the National Conference leadership”.

“Congress ka koi wujood nahi hai Jammu aur Kashmir mein. Congress is a Puppet of the National Conference. Whatever decisions are made in congress, they are made by the NC,” Sharma said.

He said that “if we go through history, in 1975 when Congress had its full strength, Sheikh Mhhammad Abdullah was released from the Jail and then imposed on Congress MLAs as Chief Minister. That shows how Congress has always surrendered before the National Conference”.

His sharp comments come amid heightened political activity in Jammu and Kashmir, as parties gear up for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. (KINS)
