Absconder wanted since 2013 arrested by Anantnag Police after 12 years

Anantnag, Dec 04 (KINS): In a major breakthrough, Anantnag Police have arrested a long-time absconder who had been evading law enforcement for over a decade.

The accused, Rattan Chand, son of Vikru Chand, a resident of Gurah Kalyal, Billawar, was wanted in FIR No. 45/2013 registered at Police Station Achabal under Sections 366, 376, and 343 RPC. Following sustained efforts and technical surveillance, he was traced and apprehended from Mahanpur, Basohli, District Kathua.

The accused has been taken into custody and will be produced before the concerned court for further legal proceedings.

Police said the arrest reflects their firm commitment to ensuring justice and upholding the rule of law, adding that efforts to track down other absconders will continue.(KINS)
