CM Omar Abdullah reviews tourism promotion strategy, calls for advance event calendar

Jammu, Dec 09 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to review tourism promotion and publicity activities across Jammu and Kashmir, with a renewed focus on enhancing the region’s visibility and boosting visitor engagement.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that the meeting discussed measures to strengthen J&K’s tourism profile by adopting targeted promotional campaigns, expanding outreach, and improving coordination among departments.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of preparing an advance calendar of events to ensure better planning, timely execution, and seamless management of upcoming tourism initiatives. He directed officials to identify key attractions, festivals, and adventure activities that can be showcased throughout the year to attract both domestic and international travellers.

Omar Abdullah also called for the use of digital platforms, robust marketing strategies, and collaboration with stakeholders to position J&K as a premier tourism destination, sources privy to the meeting said.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Tourism Department and representatives from various allied sectors. (KINS)
