J&K Police intensifies drive against traffic violations in Shopian

Shopian, Dec 13 (KINS): In continuation of its sustained efforts to ensure road safety and strict compliance with traffic regulations, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian has intensified action against traffic violations involving both two-wheelers and four-wheelers across the district.

During the ongoing special enforcement drive, several motorists were challaned for violations including riding without helmets, driving without seat belts, absence of valid driving licences, improper documentation, overloading, rash driving, and other traffic-related offences. The drive was conducted at multiple locations across the district with the objective of promoting responsible driving behaviour and reducing road accidents.

The J&K Police reiterated that wearing helmets is mandatory for two-wheeler riders as well as pillion passengers, while the use of seat belts is compulsory for drivers and passengers of four-wheelers. Driving without a valid licence and required documents not only violates the law but also poses a serious risk to human lives.

The J&K Police remains committed to promoting road safety, accountability, and strict adherence to traffic laws, and has urged the general public to cooperate in making roads safer for all.(KINS)
