Mother of senior journalist Haji Karamat Qayoom passes away

Baramulla, Dec 25: The mother of senior journalist and Chairman of the Baramulla Working Journalists Association (BWJA), Haji Karamat Qayoom, passed away on Thursday at the age of 102.
Her Janazah prayers were offered at Eid-gahahi Qadeem, Baramulla, at 11:30 am, followed by Taziyat at the family’s ancestral home. A large number of people from different walks of life attended the funeral and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), particularly its North Kashmir Bureau Chief Arshid Farooq, expressed deep condolences and sympathies with Haji Karamat Qayoom and other family members during this hour of grief.
Several political, social, and trade bodies also condoled the demise. Those who expressed sympathies include Traders Federation Baramulla, civil society members of Baramulla, Shaharbeen team, Agriculture Minister Javid Ahmad Dar, Apni Party leader Ghulam Hassan Mir, Congress MLA Irfan Hafeez Lone, MLA Javid Hassan Beigh, Media Association Sopore, and Pattan Media Association, among others.
The condolence messages highlighted the deceased’s long life and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul, while wishing patience and strength to the bereaved family.
