SSP Ganderbal reviews security arrangements ahead of Republic Day–2026

Ganderbal, Jan 06 (KINS):In view of the forthcoming Republic Day–2026 celebrations, SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, on Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess and strengthen security arrangements across the district. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office (DPO), Ganderbal.
During the meeting, the SSP undertook a detailed review of the overall security scenario and preparedness to ensure peaceful, secure and incident-free Republic Day celebrations.
The meeting was attended by Colonel Bishal Thapa of 13 RR, Commanding Officer 4th Battalion SSB Arvind Kumar, Commanding Officer 63 Battalion SSB Shri Ram Kumar Prasad, Assistant Commandant CRPF 49th Battalion Shri Mohan Singh, other senior officers of CAPFs, Additional SP Ganderbal, Gazetted Officers of District Police, and SHOs of concerned police stations.
Threadbare discussions were held on deployment plans, area domination, intelligence sharing, inter-agency coordination, protection of vulnerable points, and implementation of effective access control and traffic management measures. Emphasis was laid on enhanced vigilance, proactive policing and intensified patrolling to thwart any attempt to disturb public peace and order.
SSP Ganderbal stressed the importance of seamless inter-agency coordination, real-time information sharing and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He directed all officers to remain alert, responsive and mission-oriented, while also ensuring public convenience and confidence during the celebrations.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to work in close coordination to ensure that Republic Day–2026 is celebrated in a peaceful, secure and dignified manner across District Ganderbal.(KINS)
