Jammu, Feb 05 (KINS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to begin a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from Thursday, during which he will review security and development-related issues.
During his tour, Shah will chair high-level meetings, visit BSF border posts at Bobia and Gurnam, meet families of martyrs, and distribute appointment letters to their kin.
Jammu and Kashmir Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma said the visit would speed up development and strengthen security arrangements. He added that the review meetings would boost the morale of security forces.
Meanwhile, National Conference spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq said the visit brings hope for positive announcements, especially on the long-pending demand for restoration of statehood. He also urged the Centre to take serious note of attacks on Kashmiris outside the Union Territory.(KINS)
