District TB Centre Srinagar Organizes Nikshay Shivir under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0
Srinagar, May 20:
The District TB Centre Srinagar, functioning under the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, in collaboration with the J&K Private Diagnostic Centres Association today organized a Nikshay Shivir Camp under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 of the National TB Elimination Programme at SMart Clinic.
During the camp, TB awareness and screening services were provided to vulnerable and high-risk groups. Chest X-ray screening was conducted using hand-held portable chest X-ray technology to facilitate early detection and timely diagnosis of tuberculosis. Free testing services were also extended to the local population.
The event witnessed active participation from local residents, members of the Traders Federation, representatives from Kaka Sarai, and media personnel, who also availed the benefits of the awareness and screening camp. District office bearers of the J&K Private Diagnostic Centres Association were also present on the occasion.
Dr Abdul Rouf along with his team from the District TB Centre Srinagar remained present during the programme and supervised the conduct of awareness, screening, and testing activities.
Speaking during the programme, Omar Dhar appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir and the District TB Centre Srinagar for organizing such impactful awareness and screening initiatives. He stated that such collaborative efforts are vital for strengthening public awareness and achieving the goal of a TB-Free India under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The organizers reiterated their commitment towards promoting community participation, ensuring accessible TB screening facilities, and intensifying efforts for early diagnosis and elimination of tuberculosis from society.
