DG NCC meets Minister Sakeena Itoo in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 25 (KINS): Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lieutenant General Virendra Vats,called on Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, in Srinagar and briefed her about various NCC activities and outreach programmes being conducted across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Lt Gen Vats highlighted the role of NCC in promoting discipline, leadership, patriotism and community service among the youth. He informed the Minister about several initiatives aimed at increasing student participation in NCC activities, particularly in remote and border areas of the Union Territory.
He also shared details about ongoing training programmes, adventure activities, awareness campaigns and social service initiatives being organised by NCC units in J&K. The DG NCC stressed the organisation’s efforts towards youth empowerment and nation-building through constructive and character-building activities.
Lt Gen Vats also briefed the Minister about the participation of youth from J&K in NCC, especially girls and women.
Sakeena Itoo appreciated the role of NCC in building discipline, confidence and a spirit of service among young people. She praised the organisation for providing students with opportunities for personality development, leadership training and national integration.
The Minister assured full support from the Government for NCC activities aimed at the welfare and development of youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Additional Director General NCC, Major General Anupinder Bevli, was also present during the meeting.(KINS)
