Youth killed, 3 injured after vehicle plunges into Dal Lake

Srinagar, May 26 (KINS) : A youth lost his life while three others sustained injuries after a vehicle plunged into the Dal Lake on Foreshore Road in Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
Officials said that an EcoSport vehicle bearing registration number JK01V-3260 lost control after allegedly hitting a divider near Lashkari Mohalla on the Foreshore Road and subsequently fell into the Dal Lake.
The accident resulted in the on-spot death of one youth, while three others suffered injuries in the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Zameer, a resident of Rainawari.
Soon after the accident, rescue teams and local residents launched an operation to retrieve the occupants from the vehicle. The injured were shifted to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment, officials said.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation has been initiated.
