J&K Police honoured again as one of India’s best performers in passport services for 2025–26

Srinagar, June 20 (KINS):Jammu and Kashmir Police has achieved another signifcvcc. icant milestone by being adjudged as one of the best-performing police organizations in Passport Seva for the year 2025–26. This marks the second consecutive year tbhat J&K Police has received this prestigious recognition, having earned the distinction for the first time last year.
The J&K Police was conferred with the Institutional Performance Award for State Police during the Passport Seva Divas celebrations and Regional Passport Officers’ Conference held from June 17 to 19 at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan, New Delhi. The prestigious Certificate of Recognition and Plaque of Appreciation were presented by the Union Minister of External Affairs in recognition of J&K Police’s outstanding services, commitment to good governance, and speedy police verification for passport-related services.
The award reflects the department’s unwavering commitment to efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric service delivery. During the period from April 2025 to March 2026, J&K Police successfully completed 1,64,354 passport application verifications, showcasing exceptional efficiency and dedication in processing passport-related services.
The initiative has significantly strengthened public trust, facilitated ease of travel for citizens, and supported their personal and professional aspirations. The recognition further underscores J&K Police’s commitment to excellence in public service and reinforces its reputation as a model of responsive and people-friendly policing in the country.
Officials said the achievement highlights the department’s continued efforts to leverage technology, streamline verification processes, and ensure timely delivery of services to the public.(KINS)
