Bandipora Police concludes football tournament at Hajin

Bandipora, Sept 09 (KINS):Football tournament organised by Bandipora Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP)-2026 concluded successfully Wednesday at the Sports Stadium, Hajin.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from eight teams.

The much-awaited final was played between Hajin Heroes and FC Gundboon, with SSA Hajin emerging as the champions after securing a convincing 4–1 victory over Real Soccer FC and lifting the championship trophy.

A large number of spectators attended the final and extended enthusiastic support and encouragement to the participating players.
The closing ceremony was attended by SSP Bandipora Aijaz Ahmad Zargar-JKPS, SDPO Sumbal, Principal GHSS Hajin and SHO Police Station Hajin, besides other police officials, sports enthusiasts and members of the local community.
The winning and runner-up teams were felicitated with trophies, medals and cash prizes in recognition of their performance. The players were also appreciated for displaying discipline, sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Bandipora highlighted the importance of sports in channelising the energy of youth towards constructive and healthy activities.
The SSP further emphasised that Bandipora Police will continue to undertake sports, youth engagement and community outreach programmes under the Civic Action Programme to encourage young people to pursue positive avenues and contribute towards a healthier, safer and more harmonious society. (KINS)
