Dr Jitendra Singh holds public Darbar in Kishtwar, directs officials to resolve public grievances
Jammu, Nov 02 (KINS): Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday held a Public Darbar in Kishtwar, providing residents and public representatives an opportunity to raise their concerns directly with him and seek intervention on issues related to development and public service delivery.
During the interaction, the Minister reviewed various public grievances and developmental requirements, particularly those concerning road connectivity, infrastructure, essential services and rural development. He directed the concerned officials to take timely action on pending issues, while several complaints were addressed on the spot.
Highlighting the development of Kishtwar since 2014, Dr. Singh said the district had witnessed considerable improvements in road connectivity, communication facilities and basic infrastructure. Recalling the challenges faced by residents before 2014, he said reaching Kishtwar was once difficult due to poor road conditions, while several areas lacked mobile connectivity and basic facilities along the Machail Yatra route.
He also recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Chowgan ground in December 2014, following which he had assured the people that previously neglected regions would receive greater attention and development priority.
Dr. Singh said direct public interactions were important for understanding local issues, reviewing the progress of development works and ensuring better implementation of government schemes. He asked officials to maintain regular contact with residents and ensure that grievances are properly monitored until their resolution.
Emphasising the developmental needs of Kishtwar, he called for coordinated efforts by the district administration and various departments to improve infrastructure, strengthen connectivity and ensure effective delivery of essential services, particularly in remote and difficult areas.
The Public Darbar was attended by Leader of Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Padder-Nagseni Sunil Sharma, Kishtwar MLA Shagun Parihar, Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Sharma, SSP Sunny Gupta, senior district officers, public representatives and local residents.
The programme was part of Dr. Jitendra Singh’s ongoing public outreach initiative in his Udhampur parliamentary constituency, aimed at addressing public concerns through direct interaction and coordination with the concerned authorities. (KINS)
