Why you ended relationship with BJP for assembly polls: Er Rashid asks Sajjad Lone

KINS Desk

Srinagar, Sep 13 (KINS): Member of Parliament Er Rashid questioned People’s Conference leader Sajjad Gani Lone about why he ended the alliance with the BJP ahead of the assembly polls.

“Sajjad Sahab used to say Narendra Modi is my elder brother. They even formed a pre-poll alliance in the parliamentary elections. Now, he says he won’t align with the BJP. Why did he end the relationship with Narendra Modi’s party only for the assembly elections?” Rashid asked, according to the news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Rashid stated that he received immense love and affection from fellow inmates during his time at Tihar Jail.

“Inmates distributed sweets when I became an MP. I am not against India. I want India to become a superpower. I want India to resolve the Kashmir issue,” he said, adding, “we are not viewing the Kashmir issue on communal lines. It is a political issue that needs a political resolution.” (KINS).
