Infamous drug peddler, on the run, arrested & booked under PIT-NDPS act in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KINS):Srinagar Police have successfully tracked down and arrested notorious drug peddler Adil Rashid Bhat, also known as Raj Tanker, son of Ab Rashid Bhat, a resident of Usmanabad Bemina. He has been booked under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPSA).
Bhat has been involved in several drug peddling cases, including FIR No. 08/2021 under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act at PS Shergari, FIR No. 119/2022 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act at PS Baramulla, and FIR No. 30/2023 under Sections 8/22 and 27 of the NDPS Act at PS Batamaloo. His persistent involvement in the illegal distribution of narcotics, especially among youth, prompted Srinagar Police to prepare a detailed dossier and obtain detention warrants from the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir.
Despite evading arrest and fleeing to Jammu and then Delhi, Bhat was apprehended on December 6, 2024, due to the relentless efforts of Police Station Batamaloo. He has since been lodged in Central Jail Srinagar for his detention.
Srinagar Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance approach toward drug trafficking and continues to take strong action, including attaching properties worth crores of rupees belonging to drug peddlers accumulated through illegal activities.(KINS)
