National Conference Spokesperson says, ‘Omar Abdullah discusses security with Home Minister’

Srinagar, Feb 11 (KINS): Tanvir Sadiq, Chief Spokesperson of the National Conference (NC), emphasized the urgent need for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, stressing that the absence of full statehood has left numerous governance issues unresolved.
During a press briefing as per news agency KINS, Sadiq revealed that NC leader Omar Abdullah had recently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss critical security issues, including the situations in Kathua and Sopore. He expressed concern over the rising civilian casualties in the region, underlining that such incidents damage the peace process and alienate the local population.
“We have raised these concerns at the highest level. While law and order may not be directly in our control, we are committed to advocating for the rights of the people. The loss of innocent lives must be prevented,” Sadiq said.
In addition to security concerns, Sadiq touched upon other significant matters, including governance and the upcoming budget. He remained optimistic about potential positive outcomes from the discussions with the Home Minister.
Addressing the hardships faced by daily wage workers, Sadiq called for patience, assuring them that the new government would address their concerns in the upcoming budget session. He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to peaceful protests, stating, “Protest is a democratic right, and we will continue to work for resolving people’s issues.”(KINS)
