Rains to continue in J&K; weather to improve from March 17

Srinagar, Mar 14 (KINS): Light to moderate rainfall will continue across Jammu and Kashmir for the next 36 hours, with snowfall expected in scattered areas, the weather department said on Friday.

Fresh snowfall has also been reported in parts of South Kashmir.

An official, as per news agency KINS stated that while rain will persist across the region, an improvement in weather is expected from Sunday, March 17, with only scattered light rain likely on March 16.

On March 14, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a wet spell, with moderate rainfall affecting several areas and fresh snowfall covering parts of the Kashmir Valley.

According to the weather forecast, rain and snow will continue until March 16, with conditions expected to stabilize thereafter.

A yellow warning has been issued, cautioning against isolated snow and lightning across Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities have also warned of possible transportation disruptions at key mountain passes and higher reaches on March 14 and 15.

Travelers and residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions.(KINS)
