Undeterred by threats, Amarnath Yatra devotees express satisfaction over security, logistics; LG to flag off first batch on July 2

Srinagar, June 30 (KINS): As the Amarnath Yatra 2025 prepares to commence, a large number of devotees have begun arriving in Jammu, expressing satisfaction over the elaborate security and logistical arrangements made by the administration.
Unfazed by the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, pilgrims reaffirmed their faith and determination to undertake the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
The first official batch of pilgrims is scheduled to be flagged off by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha from the Yatri Niwas base camp in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, on July 2. This year’s Yatra is expected to witness participation from lakhs of devotees from across the country.
Devotees arriving in Jammu hailed the arrangements made by the administration, including accommodation, transportation, medical facilities, and multi-tier security cover. “We are fully satisfied with the security measures. Police, army, and paramilitary personnel are all around to ensure our safety,” a pilgrim from Madhya Pradesh told news agency KINS. “The attack in Pahalgam was unfortunate, but it hasn’t shaken our faith. We are here with full devotion,” he added.
“Our families were initially worried, but seeing the strong security presence, all doubts have vanished. The atmosphere is peaceful and encouraging,” said Meena Sharma, a devotee from Rajasthan.
Authorities have set up several registration counters, health camps, food stalls, and helplines in Jammu, with continuous monitoring from a central control room. Drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and quick reaction teams (QRTs) have been deployed along the twin routes—via Pahalgam and Baltal.
Meanwhile, LG Manoj Sinha has held a series of high-level meetings to oversee the preparations. Speaking earlier this week, he assured that “every necessary step has been taken to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims.” He will personally flag off the first batch of yatris on July 2, which will mark the formal commencement of the spiritual journey from Jammu to the holy cave.
The Amarnath Shrine Board has also urged devotees to follow the prescribed health advisories and carry valid registration documents. Officials expect record participation this year, reflecting the spiritual significance of the yatra and the trust in the administration’s preparedness.
With the collective efforts of security agencies, civil administration, and the support of local communities, this year’s Amarnath Yatra is poised to be a safe and seamless experience for all.(KINS)
